Verbal Proficiency & Comprehension Test
What is the Modern Languages Verbal Proficiency & Comprehension Test?
The Modern Languages Verbal Proficiency & Comprehension Test is a 30-minute live interview (in person or over the telephone), administered by a certified, experienced Language Proctor to a test candidate. It is a standardized, accurate measures of how well a person speaks & understands a language.
It assesses global speaking ability, measuring the candidate’s language level holistically by identifying strengths and weaknesses. After answering a grid of personalized questions, the candidate will receive a final grade ranging from 1-100.
Customized Verbal Proficiency & Comprehension Tests for company-specific on-the-job language skills assessment are also available.
Written Proficiency Test
What is the Modern Languages Written Proficiency Test?
The Modern Languages Written Proficiency Test are standardized assessments of a candidate’s functional writing ability in a language. The Modern Languages Written Proficiency Test assesses the level of spontaneous written language proficiency (no access to reference material or spell check) by comparing the candidate’s performance against objective criteria, awarding a level between junior and expert as well as a final grade ranging from 1-100.
This complete assessments presents the candidate with ten requests for written responses, all dealing with practical, social, and/or professional topics to be encountered in informal and formal contexts.
All questions and prompts are in English and the candidate is instructed to respond in the target language.
